The tour begins visiting Huaca Pucllana. Discover the fascinating history of ancient Lima at Huaca Pucllana, an impressive pre-Inca archaeological site located in the heart of modern Lima. Built by the Lima Culture between approximately 450 and 650 AD, this ceremonial center was constructed using millions of adobe bricks.
Your guide will explain the history and significance of Huaca Pucllana while you admire its monumental adobe structures and learn about the archaeological discoveries made at the site.
Then we move on to The Larco Museum, founded in 1926, displays remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The Larco Museum also features the finest gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru and the famous erotic archaeological collection, one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions.
